SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Barbara Crosby Barbara C. Crosby is associate professor emerita at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota, and a fellow of the Leadership Trust in the United Kingdom. She has taught and written extensively about leadership and public policy, cross-sector collaboration, women in leadership, media and public policy, and strategic planning. Barbara is the author of Teaching Leadership: An Integrative Approach (Routledge, 2017) and co-author with John M. Bryson of Leadership for the Common Good: Tackling Public Problems in a Shared-Power World (Jossey-Bass, 2005). She is also co-editor of Public Value and Public Administration (Georgetown Press, 2015) and Creating Public Value in Practice (CRC Press, 2015).


Kathy L. Guthrie Kathy L. Guthrie is an associate professor of Higher Education at Florida State University. She is also the director of the Leadership Learning Research Center and coordinates the Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies, which are both partnerships between the College of Education and the Center for Leadership and Social Change. Kathy is co-author with Dan Jenkins of The Role of Leadership Educators: Transforming Learning (Information Age Publishing, 2018), associate editor of the New Directions in Student Leadership series and editor of the Contemporary Perspectives in Leadership Learning book series. She is also an editorial board member of the Journal of Leadership Education and Journal of College and Character.


Sadhana Warty Hall Sadhana Warty Hall is the Deputy Director of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth College where she designs and oversees experiential learning programs focused on leadership, public policy, and civic engagement. She is co-author with Gama Perruci of Teaching Leadership Bridging Theory and Practice (Edward Elgar, 2018). Highlights of her work include transforming the Rockefeller Leadership Fellows Program, initiating the Management and Leadership Development Program in 2009, and launching the Rockefeller Global Leadership Program in 2012. Previously Hall worked for more than two decades in international development program management.


Yael Hellman Yael Hellman is the Educational Development Administrator in the Inmate Services Bureau Education Based Incarceration Unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She evaluates and mentors providers of its programs, ensuring that these offerings reflect the highest standard of in-custody services. Her innovative training programs in leadership, healthcare, and education draw not only from an academic knowledge of leadership, but also from her hands-on experience with human resource management education in both private and public sectors. Yael is the author of Learning for Leadership: A Facilitative Approach for Training Leaders.


Dan Jenkins Dan Jenkins is Chair and Associate Professor of Leadership & Organizational Studies at the University of Southern Maine. Dan is co-author with Kathy Guthrie of The Role of Leadership Educators: Transforming Learning (Information Age Publishing, 2018), and he has published more than 30 articles and book chapters on leadership education and assessment. He has also presented research and facilitated workshops on leadership pedagogy, curriculum, and course design around the world. Additionally, Dan is the Media Review Editor of the Journal of Leadership Studies.


Gama Perruci Gama Perruci is the Dean of the McDonough Leadership Center and McCoy Professor of Leadership Studies at Marietta College in Ohio. Gama is currently working on a new book, Global Leadership: A Transnational Perspective (Routledge, Forthcoming). He is co-author of Teaching Leadership Bridging Theory and Practice (Edward Elgar, 2018) with S.W. Hall, and Understanding Leadership: An Arts and Humanities Perspective (Routledge, 2015) with Robert M. McManus. His consulting work with The New York Times focuses on educational programming for leadership students and he writes a weekly column ("Connecting Theory to Practice") for The New York Times in Education website.
