This exciting and highly interactive workshop
will address the many issues associated with the creation
and development of curricular and co-curricular leadership
programs on today’s university and college campuses.
Workshop Learning Outcomes
Participants will identify critical
components necessary to design or improve their leadership
education program and will develop on action plan to
acquire needed knowledge and resources.
Participants will determine priority
knowledge and resource needs and will acquire information
to address those needs.
Participants will build learning
networks with other participants and facilitators and
will use these networks to increase learning.
Following the workshop, participants
will use the knowledge, resources, and networks developed
through the workshop to design or improve their leadership
education program.
Pre-Work: Participants
should discuss the Five Overarching Guiding Questions with
their colleagues and identify specific areas that they want
to focus on and gain information. They will bring their
questions and specific needs with them to the workshop.
Include suggestions for involvement from their staff and
manage expectations around the amount of time that it will
take for them to adequately do the prep work.

Workshop attendees who are new to the field or in the early stages of creating leadership programs will find this workshop of tremendous value, and attendees from leadership education programs undergoing major revisions will discover new insights to advance your current programs. Key experts in each of the five “Guiding Constructs” will be help facilitate the Pre-Conference session and then be available throughout the conference to continue ongoing conversations that emerge from the workshop.
