Each proposal must select a Session Type.
Please note that your selection of session type will
impact the choices available to you during the
submission process.
A poster is a visual display of a program, paper or project, is set up at the beginning of the conference and staffed by the creator(s) during the Poster Reception Friday, October 26 from 4:30 – 5:30. Posters are 4’x4’ in size, two to a side of the display board. Do not exceed the 4’x4’ size or you will cover your neighbor’s poster. Notes: No electricity will be available nor will AV equipment or display tables be permitted. If applicable, posters submitted by Masters and Doctoral students will also be considered for the 4th annual Emerging Scholars Research Consortium, which matches senior scholars to posters by research topic who then provide feedback to the presenter.
Research, practices, topics or programs presented by an individual. Examples might include a conversation with author, a lecture, or a
PowerPoint presentation. Please note that if you are accepted and you
submitted as needs to be grouped, the program committee may invite you to do an interactive roundtable discussion or display poster if they cannot find other appropriate acceptances to group you with.
The roundtable format is designed for small group discussions on topics of common interest. The organizer frames the topic and facilitates a discussion with participants joining the table. During the session, every 20 minutes a bell will ring allowing participants the opportunity to move to another roundtable or remain where they are. Roundtables take place in a large room filled with as many as 40 occurring simultaneously. The other session rooms are not in session at this time to encourage a larger participation in the roundtable event. Note: No electricity will be available nor will AV equipment be provided. You are welcome to use your own lap top at your roundtable discussion.
Presentations and/or informal discussions on a topic by two to four people with contrasting or complementary points of view that includes time for audience participation, questions, and comments.
Individual presentation of written product documenting research, presenting theories, or arguing a particular point of view. It is highly recommended that you work with others to submit a symposium instead of an individual paper as final acceptance of papers depends on the program team’s ability to group together individual papers to form a complete session. Complete papers are not due until the conference.
Please note that if you are accepted and you submitted as needs to be grouped, the program committee may invite you to do an interactive roundtable discussion or display poster if they cannot find other appropriate acceptances to group you with.
A Refereed Paper is a fully developed written, scholarly product documenting research, presenting theories, or arguing a particular point of view within the field of Leadership. In addition to completing the online submission form, complete papers must be emailed to
conferences@ila-net.org by March 15th for
consideration.
Submissions along the Refereed Paper Track must:
- NOT have been previously published or accepted for publication, but may have been previously presented or scheduled for presentation. This is an opportunity for receiving further feedback before advancing towards publication.
- Have a page count within the range of 12-15 pages, double-spaced (not including figures, table, references)
- Be completed in the following format: Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, 1-inch (2.5 cm) margin, and 8.5 by 11 inch page setting
- Be submitted as a Word document
- Only include author-identifying information on the cover page, as it will be distributed for
a double blind review.
Several presentations of scholarship or research all related to a specific common subject. Participants in a Symposium should include a chairperson and three to four presenters. This session type has been added to distinguish between multiple presentations of papers or research findings and Panel Discussions.
A group of 3-4 related refereed papers submitted together with a chairperson as a complete session submission. All guidelines within the Refereed Papers session type must be followed. In addition to completing the online submission form, complete papers must be emailed to
conferences@ila-net.org by March
15th for blind review.
An interactive demonstration or experiential session rooted in audience participation and active learning. Only select the workshop format if half or more of the time will be spent on experiential learning and active audience participation focused on learning a new skill or useful technique. (Note: listening or asking questions are not considered forms of active participation.)
