Anita Marsh is the Membership Manager for ILA. Anita serves as the staff lead for all membership functions for the organization. She is responsible for the planning, management, and operation of the membership program. Prior to joining ILA, Marsh was the Member Relations Manager with NFRC and the Membership Manager at the Council on Foundations (COF). There she served as the primary link to and resource for current and former board members, the membership and other constituencies. She also managed the day-to-day administrative and program activities of the membership department. Marsh's association management career has included leading the membership department at an association management company with 13 various small group associations and coordinating membership activities at an educational association.
Prior to a career in associations, Marsh owned and operated a business providing management services developing operational processes for small businesses and community based organizations. She has been involved with the non-profit sector for many years with experience in management consulting, grants management, philanthropy, energy conservation, urban environmental projects, housing rehabilitation and other public-private partnerships.
Anita has been a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for more than 10 years and member of both the Black Benefactors and the Black Philanthropic Alliance. She currently serves on the Vestry of her Episcopal church and is the convener for several committees. Marsh completed her undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston and did graduate study towards an MBA at Texas Southern University in Houston. She has successfully completed training with ASAE and the American Management Association.
