During the recent ILA Annual Conference in Chicago
there was energy at several sessions devoted to one theme, namely Leadership and
Complex Systems Theory (Complexity). After these presentations, sidebar
conversations, and dinner discussions, Nathan Harter, chair-elect of the
Scholarship MIG, asked about creating a new learning community around the
subject. Jean Robert (Rob) Hunter agreed to spearhead the effort.
Rob used his organizational position with RopeMedia to create an interactive Web
site to collect, distribute and manage the information and knowledge generated
by group conversations and interactions. Rob agreed to chair this new community
on Leadership and Complex Systems Theory for a period of one year. In addition,
RopeMedia agreed to host this new community during its infancy.
In the short period following the conference 19 members have expressed interest
and subscribed (free of charge). After gaining formal approval from the ILA
Executive Committee for creating the learning community, members jumped into
action. The community is currently hosted at
http://complexity.ropemedia.com. This group is open to anyone interested in
developing thoughts and ideas in the domain of Leadership and Complex Systems
Theory.
Take a moment and have a look around
http://complexity.ropemedia.com. The member participants look forward to
hearing your thoughts and ideas on the topic of Leadership and Complexity. Where
we take this theme is largely up to us. See you online. |
