Michael Harvey has a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D. in Political Theory from Cornell University. He also holds a M.S. in International Business from the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin. He is an associate professor and the chair of the Department of Business Management at Washington College, a liberal-arts college in Chestertown, Maryland. He is also the director of the American Studies Program, and a member of the campus chapter of ODK, the national leadership honor society. He teach courses in leadership and organizational behavior. Michael is an active scholar in the field of leadership studies. Since 2001, he's regularly attended ILA conferences, presenting papers and organizing scholarship panels. His most recent publications are two chapters in The Quest for a General Theory of Leadership, edited by Al Goethals and Georgia Sorenson, and published this fall by Edward Elgar. His current project is tentatively titled Active Voice: Grammar, Power, and Ethics. It’s a leadership-oriented follow-up to his writing primer, The Nuts and Bolts of College Writing (Hackett, 2003). This past year he served as co-editor with Nancy Huber of Building Leadership Bridges, the annual publication of the ILA. He will continue as co-editor for 2007. Rodger Adair has a BS in Adult/Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University (SIU-Carbondale), and a MAOM (Masters of Organizational Management) and MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is in the middle of his Ph.D. program in I/O Psychology with NCU (Northcentral University). Roger is an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix and a full time corporate coach/trainer for Apollo Corporate University. Also, he conducts independent research on Followership traits and what kinds of leaders a follower will most likely make in the future. He recently contributed a chapter on this topic to the book, The Art of Followership: How Great Followers Create Great Leaders and Organizations edited by Ron Riggio, Ira Chaleff, and Jean Lipman-Blumen, all ILA Comrades! For the last seventeen years I have focused on organizational development, industrial psychology, and corporate training, and have been busy mainly in the Arizona market.
