Tara

Membership Team) is the Assistant Director for Leadership Development
Programs at The University of Iowa. Tara serves as an adjunct faculty member
teaching leadership classes for the University. She also coordinates all
co-curricular leadership opportunities through the Office of Student Life. This
includes the Leadership Institute, MY IOWA: Multicultural and International
Student Summit, The Student Leadership Conference, The Leadership Development
Series, etc. She has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and an
M.S. in Higher Educational Leadership from Oklahoma State University. Tara
has been involved with ILA and the Educational MIG since 2003 and looks forward
to advancing the MIG this year.
Chad
Hyson (Chad.Hyson@ubc.ca, Membership
Team), Associate Director, Student Development is responsible for providing
leadership in the areas of student orientation and transition, leadership
development, and involvement opportunities. He enjoys working with students,
faculty, and professional staff at the University of British Columbia and brings
extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of student development,
educational leadership, and experiential learning. He has worked and studied at
the University of Maine, Dalhousie University and the University of Guelph.
Bernice
Ledbetter (bmledbetter@earthlink.net,
Conference Creative Team) is an educator and scholar whose expertise lies in the
areas of values and leadership. As a full-time faculty member in the Ph.D.
program in Interdisciplinary Studies at Union Institute and University, she
offers seminars in the Ethical and Creative Leadership concentration. Dr.
Ledbetter completed her doctoral work at Pepperdine University. Her research
investigated the development and actualization of values in leadership among
women executives. She is the co-author of Reviewing Leadership, a text that
integrates leadership and spirituality, translated into Chinese and Spanish. Dr.
Ledbetter’s professional background includes serving as the founding director of
the De Pree Leadership Center and providing organizational consulting through
Right Management Consultants.
Dave
Rosch (dmrosch@uiuc.edu, Resource
Team) As Program Director at the Leadership Center, Dave is responsible for
coordinating Integrity, Imprint, and LeaderShape, supervising the Graf interns,
providing direction for the Center’s Consulting Program, and teaching a
leadership course. Prior to coming to Illinois he worked at Syracuse University
in the Office of Residence Life, teaching leadership and facilitation skills.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Binghamton University,
a Master’s of Science degree in Higher Education from Colorado State University,
and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Syracuse University. His free time is spent
with his wife Laurel and son Collins, and he enjoys playing competitive ultimate
Frisbee.
Dan
Tillapaugh (Daniel.tillapaugh@gmail.com,
Membership Team)
is the Assistant Director of Student Activities at Goucher College. In his role
he coordinates Goucher's co-curricular leadership programs, including the
Emerging Leaders Initiative, the LEAD sophomore year mentoring program, the
Goucher Leadership Council, and the Senior Leadership Capstone Experience. Dan
earned his undergraduate degree at Ithaca College and his M.Ed. in Counseling
and Personnel Services at the University of Maryland. He is active within ACPA -
College Student Educators International and the Maryland College Personnel
Association, where he currently serves as advisor to the president.
Barbara
Volpe (Barbara.volpe@colorado.edu,
Conference Creative Team) is the Executive Director of the President’s Leadership Class, Inc., a
leadership development program for top students at the University of Colorado at
Boulder. Prior to this position, she was the President for ten years of the
Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC), an organization founded by the
business community to improve the quality of K-12 public schools in Colorado.
In addition to numerous leadership positions, her leadership background includes
training through the Center for Creative Leadership and participation in the
Denver Community Leadership Forum Class of 1994. She also developed a series of
leadership courses for K-12 educators with Outward Bound and founded a public
school in Denver based on Outward Bound pedagogy, The Rocky Mountain School of
Expeditionary Learning. She has served for eight years as a consultant to the
Rapides Foundation on a large school reform project in Central Louisiana. |
